Energy Systems Assessment

Energy Systems Assessment

Comprehensive evaluation of building energy performance — identifying conservation measures, quantifying savings, and supporting ESPC and UESC program requirements. We measure what buildings actually consume, benchmark it against what they should, and deliver prioritized recommendations grounded in field data.

HOW WE DELIVER

HOW WE DELIVER

Energy assessment across every phase

Energy assessment across every phase

Building energy systems degrade over time. Controls drift from original sequences. Equipment operates past its rated efficiency. Occupancy and use patterns shift. Utility rates change. Our energy assessments identify where systems have diverged from intended performance and deliver actionable, prioritized recommendations — grounded in measured data, not modeling assumptions. Every assessment aligns to ASHRAE Standard 211 and — for federal facilities — the applicable requirements of EISA 2007, EO 14057, and FEMP guidelines.

Preliminary Assessment

ASHRAE Level I and II energy audits, utility analysis, and benchmarking against comparable facilities and applicable standards. The preliminary assessment establishes the energy performance baseline — current consumption by fuel type, cost trends, EUI benchmarking, and identification of the highest-impact systems for further evaluation. For federal facilities, we align benchmarking methodology to ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager requirements and DOE FEMP guidance.

Investment Analysis

Energy conservation measure identification, savings quantification, lifecycle cost analysis, and measurement and verification planning. Each ECM is evaluated for technical feasibility, estimated savings, implementation cost, simple payback, and interaction effects with other proposed measures. We produce the investment-grade analysis that facility owners and contracting officers need to justify capital expenditure — not conceptual estimates, but engineering-grade savings projections aligned to IPMVP protocols.

Implementation Support

ESPC/UESC technical support, construction-phase energy verification, and post-implementation performance measurement. We provide the independent engineering analysis that ESPC projects require — supporting energy baseline development, ECM specification, construction-phase verification, and post-installation M&V. For facility owners navigating the ESPC or UESC procurement process, we serve as the owner's independent engineering resource, separate from the ESCO.
